'Supernatural' 7.22 Recap: The Winchesters And The Bloody Horcruxes - Starpulse.com

The tainted corn syrup is already taking effect, meaning Dean can’t eat his “road food.”  They leave with Sam’s preferred fare: fresh produce and bottled water.  “I can’t live on rabbit food; I’m a warrior!”  Dean whines, two seconds away from a tantrum.  Dick Roman has stripped him of his surrogate father, his beloved car, the only home he’s never known and now his comfort food—pie.  Now, it’s personal.

'Supernatural' 7.20 Recap: Geekster's Paradise

kirajw:

“Supernatural” has always been admirably diverse, but around the fifth season, hunting became a good old boys club.  Granted, those boys were equal parts pretty and goofy, but I was still perturbed by the severe lack of female hunters, angels and key players.  So I wished, prayed and may have even written a few angry emails begging for a decent female character that wasn’t a damsel in need of rescue or charmed by Sam and Dean’s spectacular faces, had no problem fighting for the greater good and maybe had a few awesome one-liners.  The answer to my prayers came in the form of Charlie Bradbury, a Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings lovin’ hacker who dared to complete an impossible mission even with the “Eye of Sauron” watching her every keystroke.

'Supernatural' 7.19 Recap: The Odds Aren't Ever In Their Favor

If you were upset that Annie hooked up with Sam and Dean, don’t be, because she’s dead.  But you’d have to flip a three-sided coin to figure out whose good lovin’ killed her, because it’s not just Sammy’s discostick that’s cursed these days.  Bobby’s last girlfriend and visitor from Purgatory died in season 6 and he had to kill his undead wife again in season 5.  Dean’s girlfriend, Lisa, would’ve been worm-food if Castiel hadn’t saved her life and erased her memory in “Let It Bleed.”  This poor woman was more doomed than a free bottle of Dean’s favorite whiskey.

'Supernatural' 7.18 Recap: Raise Your Glass - Starpulse.com

Leave it to “Supernatural” to wallop fans with Sam bravely facing his own demise only for poor dead Castiel to fly in for a last minute save and then to return with a lighthearted, filler episode that played as both a love letter to binge-drinking and a PSA for drinking and driving, and then stomp on our hearts with a one-two punch of—SPOILER ALERT— Bobby Singer’s singers return.  That’s enough to drive this liquor-averse blogger to drink in celebration and because of all the feelings.  Where’s a raspberry mojito when you need one or 14?   I love this show so much.

'Supernatural' Recap: Bobby's Final Destination?

As a fan of “Supernatural,” there are certain things I expect each week: crass, dark humor, violent deaths, epic monsters, and of course, a hearty helping of brotherly, visceral angst.  After 135 episodes, I thought the show was done taking my breath away.  And then I curled up on the couch to watch “Supernatural’s” winter finale, “Death’s Door,” and realized that executive producer Sera Gamble and company had found completely new and twisted ways to destroy me.  And I love them for it.   “Death’s Door” was a wistful, beautifully written and acted exploration of the human spirit, the tragedy of death, and a brilliant study in the otherwise enigmatic character that is Bobby Singer.

'Supernatural' Recap: The Winchesters Ruin Our Thanksgiving Appetites

Ever since The CW released the description for this week’s episode, I’ve been drooling, more than Dean Winchester approaching the Biggerson’s pie buffet, at the notion of a gore-filled hour of my favorite demon hunters becoming the hunted by a flesh-eating predator that looked like a zombie from “The Walking Dead.”  Instead, I had to watch an exposition-heavy episode where one of the best hunters in the world was taken down by a friggin’ sandwich.  With Thanksgiving around the corner, I’m quite grateful that Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) are so incredibly easy on the eyes, which softened the blow of repeated viewings.

'Supernatural' Recap: Love Potion No. 7

They dropped Becky at home to sign annulment papers and to celebrate that their bogus marriage lasted longer than Kim Kardashian’s. Sam attempted to give Becky a pep talk, if only to keep her from drugging guys into submission.  I’m not convinced that she learned anything from her dance with demons or that Sam’s encouragement had worked as she stepped away from this quest unscathed and with a somewhat successful hunt under her belt.  I’m not sure if it would be hysterical or horrifying to meet Becky the hunter.

'Supernatural' Recap: The Winchesters Dial The Psychic Friends Network

After a heartbroken Sam literally took a long walk off a short pier, I found myself simultaneously rolling my eyes and clutching my pearls at last week’s emotional and manipulative cliffhanger, because nothing good happens when Sam and Dean separate and it was obvious the brothers would reunite.  Regardless, I imagined poor Sammy huddled in a hovel of a hotel room while grotesque visions of Lucifer danced through his head.  So I was eager for Sam and Dean’s quarrel to be resolved with some emo-happy conversations and maybe a shirtless fight in the rain.  While none of that happened, “The Mentalists,” an awesome episode with scary ghosts, spot-on humor and a ton of psychic intervention, alleviated most of my fears and gripes and kept me thoroughly entertained.
